Dan Kim

I am a post-doctroal researcher at the Concepts and Learning Lab at the Ohio State University. My research interests lie primarily in the area of quantitative thinking and development. Quantitative thinking is fundamental for everyday life. From measuring the amount of water to brew your coffee in the morning to finding the shortest path during rush hour to leaving a tip at a restaurant, there are lots of everyday challenges that require quantitative reasoning and skills.

I am interested in understanding the pervasive processes. Specifically, my research explores how quantities are perceived and represented, which factors in perception and representation are crucial for acquiring quantitative skills, and what leads to more accurate representation of quantity and magnitude in development across cultures.
